Protection Plus began as a two-person, home-based security business
to provide Ms. Stanley and her husband, Ray, with part-time work.
She incorporated in 1990 with 10 full-time workers, and now employs
135 security guards, off duty police officers and traffic-control
officers for construction security, traffic control, and on site
security. Revenues exceeded $3 million in 1999, with a client
roster that includes the RCA Dome and Convention Center, the Federal
Aviation Administration at Indianapolis International Airport,
and a variety of construction companies, stores, and apartment
